Fortunately for users, the two-line operation is just the beginning: the phone also includes such useful features as caller ID, a built-in speakerphone, and a three-line LCD display. p The caller ID/call waiting combo (subscription required) is particularly handy. Caller ID lets you see who's calling before you answer the phone, while call waiting lets you know when another call is coming in. By combining the two, however, users will learn who's calling even when they're currently in the middle of a conversation with someone else. When you hear the beep, simply look at the LCD display to identify the name and number. It's especially convenient when you're waiting for an important call but still have other calls to make. p The speakerphone, meanwhile, lets you field your calls hands-free. It's especially useful for group or business situations, such as during conference calls when others in the room need to be part of the conversation. Panasonic also added a 12-step volume control so everyone in the room can hear the discussion. p Finally, the LCD screen displays such data as call status, programming options, directory items, and caller ID names and numbers. THE PHONE WORKS ABOUT AVERAGE EXCEPT FOR THE CALLER ID FEATURE WHICH IS PRACTICALLY USELESS. THE SCREEN ON WHICH THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE CALLER IS DISPLAYED IS VERY SMALL AS IS THE PRINTING AND WHEN THE PHONE IS HUNG ON THE WALL IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO READ ANYTHING ON THE SCREEN WITHOUT BENDING DOWN ABOUT 12 INCHES BELOW THE PHONE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE CALLER ID.br /br /ROCKO
