2 out of 5 stars Poor Clarity   September 6, 2008
Bought this phone for it's amplification for a hard of hearing person. It is great in that respect but there is significant hiss in the background no matter where it's plugged in in the house. No other phone has this issue so I think it's the phone. My hearing is ok so I find it very annoying and don't use the phone. The tone change button does not appear to make any difference in tone that I can hear.

5 out of 5 stars I've waited a long time for a phone like this one.   May 31, 2008

Having been hearing impaired since childhood, I'm glad that technology has finally acknowledged the needs of the hearing impaired. The amplified phones of the past don't hold a candle to the Clarity C4210. After carefully reading the manual, I found that all the problems mentioned in the previous reviews are addressed... if only people would take the time to understand this phone's functions.br /br /The phone *IS* easy to use, easy to program, interfaces well with my phone service's voice mail system (which is nice since this phone does not have a built-in answering machine). The phone flashes when I either have missed a call or have a voice message waiting. Great feature since my old phone's built in digital answering machine sounded horrible. It stores a whopping 50 numbers in its phone directory. And, most importantly, provides ample amplification, up to 50 dB, of the high frequencies needed to clearly understand speech. I highly recommend this phone.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   April 5, 2008
I am moderately hearing impaired and frequently have difficulty hearing on the telepone. This Clarity phone seemed perfect for me, especially since it was supposed to work well with hearing aid tele-coils. It's okay, but the sound isn't as clear as I'd hoped, particularly the sound "boost" button. It's loud enough, just not clear enough. However, everyon'e hearing loss is different, and what doesn't work for me may work well for someone else. It's worth giving it a try. (I kept the phone, because it's my best option at the present time.)

1 out of 5 stars Very Over-rated Phone   May 15, 2007

I bought this phone for my Mother who is 86 and very hard of hearing... this is probably the worst phone we have ever tried for her... she could not hear my voice ...and she sounded like she was about a million miles way..the sound quality is absolutely terrible. I returned this phone immediately. Believe it or not... she went to the local CVS store and bought one of their phones for about 30 bucks...and it sounds much better than this Clarity one did. I will not consider Clarity products any time soon..very over rated and way too expensive

4 out of 5 stars Nice phone but   January 11, 2007

I purchased the phone for an elderly woman who is hard of hearing. She can hear very well with it. However, it is always a challenge for her to program anything. This phone is no different. There is a volume boost button that is very useful. It has to be turned on each time the phone is used. It would be nice to turn the volume on button "on" permanantly. It's just one less thing to do when you answer the phone. These issues are minor. I would purchase the phone again.
